Following sell-out seasons in New York and Edinburgh…
Following sell-out seasons in New York and Edinburgh, Australia’s fabulously camp and deliciously funny Drags Aloud are back with a gloriously twisted satire on celebrity and cinema in Drags Aloud At The Movies. Drags Aloud are Amanda Monroe, Jessica James, Kris del Vayze and Linda Lamont.
These 20th Century foxes will make you laugh and cry and as they sing, mime and mimic their way through some of Hollywood’s most-beloved movies and stars. Funny, irreverent, and with more costume changes than a Kylie concert, Drags Aloud at the Movies has bucketloads of glorious pop and corn in a parody of epic proportions.
Glamorous Melbourne-based performing trio, and the winners of three Australian Rainbow Awards, Drags Aloud were the first Australian drag show to tour internationally. Dazzling audiences with their unique parody of The Sound Of Music in 2007, Drags Aloud received a host of five-star reviews and the Director’s prize at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Next they demolished Sandy and Danny with their
Grease Lightnin’ Drag Show, selling out at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Off-Broadway in New York in 2008, and opening for Joan Rivers’ 2009 Australian Tour.
Now they have Hollywood’s sacred cows and celebrities in their sights once more.
Drags Aloud perform Drags Aloud At The Movies at The Deluxe at Federation Square from March 31 – April 24. It’s at 7pm Tuesday – Saturday and 6pm on Sundays. Tickets are $15 – $24 and available through Ticketmaster online, 1300 660 013 and at the door.
