Drag Expo is coming to Melbourne for a celebration of everything drag

Australia’s first Drag convention, Drag Expo is the nation’s foremost celebration of everything drag, kitsch and pop culture.

Appearing at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 6 to 7, this weekend-long convention is complete with a plethora of panels, tutorials, chill out spaces, fabulous shopping stores, runways with Q&A sessions, meet and greets, official merchandise, a drag market and more. Meet the stars of RuPaul’s Drag Race, learn about how drag has evolved over the years and see legends of Australian drag and learn their inspiring stories.

Kicking off with a two hour long extravaganza of an Opening Gala on August 5, featuring fabulous shows from all their major international and local Drag talent. With main stage performances, panels to attend and new friends to meet, this is the perfect expo for any drag artist or fan of drag.

But it’s not all glitz and glamour at Drag Expo – from technical tucks to mental health, there will be no topic left untouched over the two days.

The program is full to the brim of heaps of iconic drag artists. This year, meet RuPaul’s Drag Race and Drag Race Down Under stars Detox, Art Simone, Etcetera Etcetera, Maxi Shield, Jasmine Masters, Coco Jumbo and Scarlet Envy. They’re joined by a cast of impeccable talent, including winner of Dragula, Vander Von Odd and reigning Miss First Nation 2021, Cerulean.

Witness how Australia has given drag our own special flavour with local talents such as Max Drag Queen, Michelle Mayhem, Diva Attenbra, Stacy Queen, Ellawarra, Ruby Slippers, Beverly Kills and The Fabulous Wonder Mama.
