Dirt Hand

dirthand.jpg

Who are we chatting to and what do you do in the band? Arun (Uh-roon). I drive the band. Or the band drives me. It’s a shifting dynamic.

What do you reckon people will say you sound like? Nick Cave and Tom Waits dancing in a desert.

What do you love about making music? Everything. Right now, we just finished making a record so I’m obsessed with people. The things they do when you just let them take your songs down their own rabbit hole for a bit. It’s fascinating.

What do you hate about the music industry? Nothing. Are you kidding? I get to make beautiful music all day and you’re asking for complaints?

What inspires your music most? Humans. We’re completely nuts.

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why? Beethoven. He’d probably think my music is trite, but electricity? Distortion? The saxophone?

What can a punter expect from your live show? Look, it’s all a bit serious, to be honest. All I ask is that the music be beautiful and the bar sell doubles in a short glass.

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise? We have a CD. It’s called the Dirt Hand EP. It’s on all the requisite platforms too for anyone who hates CDs or suffers from chronic buyer’s remorse.
