Pause describes itself as a ‘Moroccan-inspired oasis’ and we’d be inclined to agree. It’s certainly a lavishly appointed bar. The main room is straight out of some Lawrence of Arabia afternoon special and is awash with colour and plush furnishings.
Embracing the international decor, the drinks selection is sourced from around the world. Aside from the extensive range of imported beers, you can also choose your wines from Spain, France and Italy. The cocktail list runs for a couple of pages and the bar staff are not afraid to add their own twist on classics. Take the Red Berry Mule for instance; it’s a combination of strawberries and raspberries muddled with fresh lime, creme de framboise and Absolut vodka, topped with ginger beer and garnished with a handful of mixed berries. If you’re looking for a drinking excursion that takes you through North Africa and back in one night, Pause comes highly recommended.
