Death Cab for Cutie have revealed they’ll be stopping by Melbourne and Sydney in March as part of their international album tour.

The alt-rock five-piece released their ninth studio album, Thank You For Today, in August this year. The band’s latest record is heavily inspired by frontman Ben Gibbard’s hometown and the relationship between memory and place. This year also marks 20 years since Death Cab offered up their debut album, Something About Airplanes, to the world.

Death Cab added to the soundtracks of emo kids everywhere with their hits ‘I’ll Follow You Into the Dark’, ‘A Lack of Colour’ and ‘Soul Meets Body’, so their upcoming tour will undoubtedly be a rush of nostalgia.

Check out Death Cab’s Australian tour dates below:

  • Wednesday March 6, Arts Centre, Melbourne
  • Monday March 11, Sydney Opera House, Sydney
  • Tuesday March 12, Sydney Opera House, Sydney
