Brews, homies and homebrewed adventure!
Dice Paper Role is an improvised Dungeons and Dragons adventure/comedy show, where no experience of D&D is required. For 2025 we present Dice Paper Role and Friends, improvised fantasy adventures with a special guest comedian at every show.
Crucial crossroads and life or death decisions will be decided by a roll of the famed d20 dice, with hilarious and unexpected consequences.
The audience becomes part of the adventure by making live sound effects and even playing bit part characters that help enhance the world and tell the tale.
Dice Paper Role’s (DPR) adventures first began in 2017, the brainchild of actors and improvisers Greg Pickering, Daniel Last, Ben Clements, Emil Freund, Jack Crosby, and Lauren Bok. It uses the wildly popular 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons rules, and over the past five years DPR has morphed into a snarling, spitting, swearing behemoth of the D&D podcast scene.
DPR have produced over 150 episodes of improvised comedy chaos where players are guided by a Dungeon Master who tells the tale. You’ll get warped and dark humour, an apundance of lame jokes, hijinks, antics, epic battles, a high level nerd factor, a touch of heartfelt friendship and romance, an original score and incredible illustrations.
DPR sold out their run at the 2022 Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022 and sold out the season before the first show in 2024.
Previous guests include Mark Bonano, Rosie Jones, Mish Wittrup, Scout Boxall, Jay Wymarra, Oliver Coleman and Scod & Yon from Tripod.
