David Hockney: Current showcases many of Hockney’s recent works, in which he has embraced the introduction of technology like iPhones and iPads into the art world.
Some of these digital drawings are animated, presented in print, or shown onscreen, and the National Gallery of Victoria has also dedicated a 60-metre gallery to Hockney’s 82 charming portraits of friends and family.
Other highlights of the exhibition include 4 blue stools, an immersive room installation of the artists’ Hollywood Hills studio; Bigger Trees Near Warter, Hockney’s largest painting at 12 metres in length; and The Four Seasons, a four wall video work depicting the changing Yorkshire season.
