Each year more than 100 local songwriters enter the competition to win what has now become one of the most sought-after songwriting awards in Australia. The annual awards are open to songwriters who live, work or study in the City of Darebin and you can enter one of three competition categories: APRA Open Award, ‘Above Love’ Theme Award for the most socially articulate song, Decibels Youth Award – open to songwriters under the age of 18. There are great prizes up for grabs, including the APRA Open Award first prize which offers one great artist $1200 cash, studio time, mastering, duplication services and more.
