After their wildly successful New Year’s Eve gig with The Avalanches, Pontoon is prepping for another beach party, the second of the Summer Sounds events. This time, Cut Copy is performing a DJ set. This is a rare chance to see Cut Copy’s DJing in an intimate bar setting as well as another of Melbourne’s favourite dance acts and internationally renowned DJs, Total Giovanni.
The day party is set for 12pm Sunday January 28 with even more premium DJs playing on the beach, such as Edd Fisher, Pienne, Kate Miller and Nile Delta. This makes St Kilda the place to be on Sunday January 28; its the end of a long weekend and there’s an amazing DJ line-up following the annual Pride March filling the streets with people and colour.
This Cut Copy event is part of a new wave of premium gigs at Pontoon featuring the best of both Australian and international artists. These gigs give patrons the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favourite artists.
Impressive DJs perform every week at Pontoon from Thursdays to Sundays with acts like Edd Fisher, Nick Murray, Noise in My Head, Albrecht La’Brooy, Myles Mac, Dave Smiley, Grant Camov and Leo James. Located at sand level as part of Stokehouse Precinct, Pontoon’s a fast-moving beach club with an 18-metre bar and grilled meals all day.
