The band’s nomadic journey has taken them from Sydney’s nascent post-punk scene through Melbourne, London, Berlin and Detroit. Along the way, they collaborated with members of The Birthday Party including Mick Harvey and the late Rowland S. Howard, releasing a string of atmospheric, blues-inflected albums that earned them a devoted international following. After disbanding in 1991, Bonney pursued a solo career before reviving Crime & The City Solution in the 2010s with a new Berlin-based lineup.
The Killer, released in October 2023 via Mute Records, marks the band’s first album in over a decade and has garnered widespread critical acclaim. Recorded in Berlin with producer Martin J, the record proves that Bonney’s atmospheric songwriting has lost none of its power. The six-date Australian tour follows an exclusive appearance at Dark Mofo in June 2025 and represents a significant homecoming for a band whose artistic journey across multiple continents has finally brought them full circle back to their Australian origins.
