It will be Barnett’s first full-band show since her sold-out bushfire fundraiser gigs at The Corner in January.
The universally-beloved Courtney Barnett has just announced she’ll be performing a special livestream show from none other than Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building.
Going down on Thursday December 17, the event will see Barnett perform with her full band for the first time since her sold-out bushfire fundraiser gigs at The Corner in January.
Like all artists across the globe, 2020 has been an unprecedented year for Barnett – her usually-frenetic touring schedule has been ground to a halt as she swaps out the tour bus for an apartment, laying low until the chaos subsides.
Emerging from her slumber, Barnett will be joined by usual suspects, bassist Bones Sloane and drummer Dave Mudie, for the show, while she’s also added another string to her bow with the addition of Lucy Waldron on cello.
Performing from smack-bang in the middle of the Royal Exhibition Building, the show will see Barnett team up with filmmaker Derry Sheehan, who will be there to capture the event. Expect Barnett to perform a bunch of classics alongside some brand new compositions.
Courtney Barnett comes to the Royal Exhibition Building on Thursday December 17. Tickets go on sale here from 9am, Friday November 27.
