Brazen Hussies documents the Australian Women’s Liberation Movement of the ’60s and ’70s.
Milk! Records labelmates Courtney Barnett and Evelyn Ida Morris have signed on to soundtrack Brazen Hussies, an upcoming documentary exploring the feminist revolution in Australia.
Focusing on the Women’s Liberation Movement which exploded between 1965 and 1975, the documentary will feature archival footage and personal accounts, photographs and memorabilia from activists who helped spearhead the revolutionary movement.
The documentary, directed by Catherine Dwyer, is still in development and seeking funding. Morris is credited as the film’s composer, with Barnett working alongside her as co-writer.
