The forthcoming EP will see Cox rework tracks from his previous two albums, including fan favourites ‘Drinking Season’, ‘Lake House’ and ‘Give Me Tonight’, taking them back to the bone for what promises to be a collection of raw and evocative songs.

The stripped-back EP was inspired after COVID-19 restrictions forced Cox to forgo his plans to take the band on the road and, instead, tour solo. After performing the minimalistic renderings of his songs across his tour, Cox decided to turn lemons into lemonade and release the acoustic versions in the form of What’s Your Favourite Country Song?.

“Getting back to just me, solo on guitar and in smaller venues reminded me of where these songs started, the roots of it all. This EP is for my fans,” he says.

Having sold-out 40 shows on his 2020 Unplugged tour, Cox is hitting the road again next month for another run of stripped-back shows with Another Unplugged Tour which will see him hit regional venues across Queensland and northern New South Wales.

In the meantime, you can get a taste of the forthcoming EP with Cox’s new acoustic single ‘Beau In The Back’.
