These Aussie musos are going places.
The longlist for the Corner Award has been unveiled, with 33 homegrown musicians and bands in the running to win some pretty sweet prizes.
Acts picked in this year’s Corner Award longlist include Approachable Members Of Your Local Community, DRMNGNOW, Genesis Owusu, Kwame and U-Bahn. The longlist was assembled by Corner Hotel staff, in addition to representatives from Bakehouse Studios, Mushroom Publishing, RRR FM, The Push and the ABC. Previous recipients of the award include Sampa The Great, Baker Boy and Cable Ties, who have all since gone on to bigger and better things.
The winner will go home with a $5,000 cash prize and financial support for their next show at the Corner Hotel.
