So old mate Travis Barker has failed in his quest to overcome a fear of flying in time for Soundwave Festival. Apparently the plan was to drug him and smuggle him on the plane (I guess it beats catching a boat). Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion fame will be filling in for Blink 182’s upcoming performances. Not a bad trade.
The Smith Street Band have added an extra Melbourne show to their mostly sold out Aussie tour. All those who missed out on the Reverence show can now rock up on Sunday February 24 and catch the band with The Bennies and Bomb The Music Industry. Tickets are on sale now.
Cradle O’ Filth are coming back. In support of their most recent release The Manticore and Other Horrors, these UK bros will play at Palace Theatre on Friday May 10. You can get tickets next Monday if you’re extra keen!
Dead Letter Circus are hittin’ the road in April. The guys need a break from recording their second album so they’re smashing out at their Corner Hotel show on Friday April 12 with Breaking Orbit. Tickets are available now.
Tom Delonge of Blink 182 will be making a very spesh guest appearance at the Cult Vault screening of Love, his debut film. Get over to Palace Westgarth at 11.30pm (yes, PM, after Blink’s set at Melbourne Soundwave) to suss it out. He’ll even do a Q&A at the end of the session if you’re still awake.
Katatonia are joining the upcoming Opeth Australian tour. Thankfully tickets are still available so you still have a chance to catch a rather epic double international bill at The Palace on Thursday March 14.
Wondering what Sydney’s Tonight Alive have been up to? Those kids are currently on tour in the UK but they’re returning home to bang out a couple small shows. Melburnites get two chances to see them at Ding Dong on May 18 and 19. Tickets available now.

Bane have revealed they’ll play more than just the Break The Ice Festival in Melbourne on Sunday April 28. You can also catch them at an intimate club show at Bang on Saturday April 27, with support from Hopeless. Sick.
William Elliot Whitmore has announced two of Melbourne’s finest acoustic acts as his support for his upcoming Corner Hotel date. You can catch Whitmore plus Tassie’s Lincoln LeFevre and local, Lucy Wilson on Tuesday March 26 at the Corner. Should be a ripper.
The one and only Cancer Bats have announced a ripsnorting sideshow at The Reverence for Thursday February 28. Catch them plus Kingdom of Sorrow and This Is Hell (who are also playing a sidewave with Anthrax and Fozzy earlier in the evening!). Tickets available now through Oztix.
DZ Deathrays are gon’ chuck a couple small shows down the east coast this April. You should go check them out when they play the newly revived Ding Dong Lounge on Saturday April 13. Will rule.

Opening night is Wednesday February 20 with the book available for purchase throughout the exhibition’s two week run.
