ComplexCon is coming to Australia for the first time ever - delivering the largest cultural festival of its kind for our region.
In a monumental move for the Australian cultural scene, Complex Australia, Archetype, and the Mushroom Group are ecstatic to declare the arrival of the pioneering ComplexCon to the Land Down Under. This marks the inception of the largest cultural festival of its calibre in the region.
Set to unfold in the vibrant city of Melbourne on the 27th and 28th of April 2024, ComplexCon Australia promises an immersive experience tailored for the Asia Pacific region. From streetwear and sneakers to music, design, art, food, and sport, the two-day event aims to encapsulate the cutting edge of contemporary culture.

The event, which has traditionally been hosted in Long Beach, California, since its inception in 2016, is now spreading its wings globally, bringing the multifaceted festival to the heart of Melbourne through a collaboration between Complex Networks, Archetype, and the Mushroom Group’s touring and events company MG Live.
The festival’s guest Artistic Director, a global creative powerhouse soon to be announced, will infuse their distinctive vision into ComplexCon Australia’s artistic and experiential direction. Expect a weekend filled with interactive displays, exclusive streetwear and sneaker drops, live art, delectable food, installations and exhibitions, live panel discussions, sports activations, and performances by a lineup of contemporary superstars.
Archetype Managing Partner, Andrew Montell, expressed his excitement, stating, “Melbourne has witnessed numerous extraordinary moments in music, fashion, sports, and culinary arts. Still, no prior event has successfully amalgamated all these elements on the international stage at the scale of ComplexCon Australia. We aim to showcase the best of global streetwear, sneakers, hip hop, sport, art, food, and more through the unique lens of Complex Australia.”
Mushroom Group Chief Executive, Matt Gudinski, shared the enthusiasm, emphasizing Melbourne’s status as the cultural capital of Australia and the ideal host city for such a colossal event. Gudinski stated, “It was always our aim to hold Australia’s first-ever ComplexCon in Melbourne – it’s one of the world’s biggest cultural events of its kind, and Melbourne is this country’s culture capital, making it the perfect host city.
