Clowns just announced their first Melbourne show in nearly two years

Words by Tom Parker

The punk kings come to 170 Russell as part of Melbourne Music Week – Extended.

Beloved Melbourne punks Clowns have just revealed news on a grand scale. It’s not a new track, album or livestream monotony; it’s a Melbourne live show – their first of the sort in nearly two years.

Throughout the calamity that was 2020, Clowns hibernated, resting for what came next – the ensuing opportunity for them to strut their stuff in an environment that worked; an environment that did their blistering punk rock justice.

So here they are, gearing up for a show at 170 Russell – a sentence that would’ve sounded normal in 2017, 2018 or 2019, but in 2021, takes on even more significance. That’s because live music wasn’t allowed for most of 2020… it was prohibited.

What are the deets, you ask?

Well, the show is going down on Friday February 19 and they’ll be joined by fellow punk inspirers, These New South Whales and Rot TV – the Melbourne supergroup made up of members of Miss Destiny, Rabid Dogs, Deaf Wish, Annihilation Time and more.

There’s nothing else to say… Let’s party, Melbourne!
