CLAMM announce Australian tour with new bassist

Melbourne trio CLAMM head back out around the country after the release of their celebrated 2022 album Care, and welcome new member Stella Rennex (Parsnip, Thibault, Smarts) on bass.

After playing saxophone on Care (as well as for the likes of King Gizzard, ORB and Bananagun) Stella joins CLAMM permanently on bass, replacing departing member Maisie Everest, who is leaving to focus on the band she fronts Belair Lip Bombs. CLAMM are set to play a show at Melbourne’s own Croxton Bandroom on April 15.

CLAMM explore the confusion of what it is to be a young person trying to live an honourable life in this fucked up world. Through the medium of urgent, blown out punk, they try to navigate systems of power and oppression while retaining a healthy sense of self and mental health.

CLAMM are currently touring UK/Europe, playing shows with A Place To Bury Strangers and Preoccupations as well as their own headline dates. They also toured UK/Europe in Aug/Sep 2022, playing sold out shows in London and Berlin.

In Australia the band has supported Ty Segall, Wolf Alice, Amyl & the Sniffers, the Chats, Civic and the Murlocs, with upcoming shows with King Gizzard and Pavement. Their Care album launch tour in Sep/Oct 2022 saw them play sold out shows in Melbourne and Brisbane and introduce themselves to large parts of the country.

After this upcoming Australian dates the band return again to UK/Europe in May, playing London’s Wide Awake Festival and other festivals and headline shows.

2022 album Care was released by Chapter Music in Australia and UK label Meat Machine (home to Canadian provocateurs Crack Cloud). It received multiple spins by Iggy Pop and Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music, and coverage from Line Of Best Fit, Chicago Reader, NME Australia and elsewhere.

Debut album Beseech Me was released on cassette in Australia in 2020 and reissued by Meat Machine in 2021. It was a feature album across Australian community radio and saw CLAMM featured on the cover of French Rolling Stone and played on 6 Music.
