Cabaret Shows Australia is a new event company from the masterminds behind South Yarra's Speakeasy Kitchen Bar. Their first event? A raucous Christmas in July spectacular.
Experience a brand-new kind of cabaret experience at this four-hour Christmas in July celebration at St Kilda’s iconic beachside complex, Encore. Cabaret Shows Australia will bring the roaring ’20s to St Kilda beach, adapting the prohibition-era vibe of Speakeasy Kitchen Bar to the luxurious venue overlooking Port Phillip bay.

Everyone’s encouraged to dress in their best glitz and glamour – think Great Gatsby meets Boardwalk Empire – as the event will deliver the full VIP treatment, including a red-carpet arrival and photographs on the media wall. You’ll then be partying to Partimama and the Babes, and Timmy Byrne from Kiss FM, both spinning classic house anthems that will transform the 1920s into the present day.
The event also includes a festive feast, with all-you-can-eat and drink in addition to the full night of cabaret entertainment.
Christmas in July is the brainchild of Speakeasy Kitchen Bar’s Frankie McDad, so there’s a strong charitable side as well. Everyone’s invited to bring a gift to place under the event’s spectacular Christmas tree, which will then be donated to The Magic Moments Foundation Basket Brigade, a volunteer-run Melbourne organisation providing gifts and support to families in poverty.
This is only the beginning for Cabaret Shows Australia, from a management team that boasts decades of experience hosting world-class events in Melbourne. The company will soon be hosting new cabaret experiences across the country, with plans already in action for a second party this October with a 007 theme.
