The science lab-themed Croft Institute has swapped its test tubes for disco balls with new venue, Solace.

After five long years since the closure of The Croft Institute, a new bar and club has finally popped up in Chinatown’s Croft Alley and they aren’t wasting any time reaching for staple status in Melbourne’s electronic music scene.

Promising underground DJs, live acts and an intimate listening room, Solace are boasting a rock solid emphasis on cocktails and wine, a world-class sound system, brilliant artistic curation and a community focus.

  • Opening Hours: Wed and Thu: 5pm – late, Fri and Sat: 5pm – 3am

Solace themselves have claimed they’re aiming to become “a landmark for Melbourne’s electronic music scene and add to the vibrant venue ecosystem that has defined this city as one of the finest in the world”.

The drinks focus on classic fun and local produce, with a wine list that leans local and independent — though there’s always room for a nice Champagne or Sangiovese of course.

On the music front, Solace boasts a continuously scorching roster of local and international DJs and live acts, showcasing the best in techno, house, deep house, breaks, jungle, and electro.
