Chillin’ in Banyule

Melbourne and Banyule local favourites David Cosma, Charlotte Glover and the Estelle Conley Trio kick off the events series in a special evening at Empire Music Studios.

David Cosma

The Age described David Cosma as having the ‘full-bodied croon pairing the silken wryness of Elvis Costello and the gravel of Bob Dylan’ while Inpress Magazine wrote ‘a thinking person’s songwriter that speaks volumes to what a terrific talent we have in our midst’. Inspiring lyrics accompanied by sumptuous melodies and harmonies, together with his unique method of playing the guitar (upside down), guarantees an impassioned live performance. It’s an exciting mix of blues, roots, folk and rock. David has toured with, supported and performed alongside artists including Mark Seymour, Brian Cadd & Russell Morris, Pete Murray and Jeff Martin to name some. He has also co-written and fronted the critically acclaimed theatre show Sun Rising – The Songs That Made Memphis for over a decade. Recently, David travelled to Memphis Tennessee where he recorded music at the world famous Sun Studios, which will appear on his upcoming album due for release later this year.

Charlotte Glover

Charlotte Glover is part of an acoustic duo featuring Charlotte Glover, lead singer of Melbourne indie rock band Wasteman, accompanied by guitarist Patrick Quinlan. Known for their intimate and soulful performances, the duo brings a stripped-back charm to both original songs and reimagined covers. Charlotte’s emotive vocals, paired with Patrick’s warm acoustic arrangements, create a versatile act perfect for any setting. Their setlists effortlessly blend heartfelt originals with crowd-pleasing classics, making them a great choice for weddings, corporate events and private functions. Whether creating a relaxed ambiance or engaging a lively audience, Charlotte Glover delivers a memorable musical experience.

Estelle Conley Trio

Let yourself be whisked away by the enchanting sounds of Naarm/Melbourne-based folk singer/songwriter Estelle Conley. With heartfelt, magnetic indie-folk melodies and storytelling inspired by legends of the ’60s and ’70s, Estelle’s music explores themes of love, friendship and yearning, blending indie folk with a touch of country. Triple J’s Nkechi Anele describes it as ‘music that delicately holds your hand as you travel on a journey through hurt and sadness to the other side.’ Estelle has performed at fab venues and festivals across Australia, sharing the stage with artists like Julia Johnson, Kay Proudlove and Leroy Lee. In 2025, she will release her highly anticipated EP, created in collaboration with Naarm-based artist and producer Rowena Wise. Whether performing solo or with her band, Estelle crafts deeply moving musical moments, a soothing remedy, like yoga for the ears.
