Plans have been revealed for Australia’s first ever National Aboriginal Art Gallery, that would be constructed in Adelaide — with a build promised if the South Australian Liberal Party wins the forthcoming election.

As well as being Australia’s debut Indigenous art gallery, the development would also feature a $60 million international culinary school and a section dedicated to start-up business initiatives.

“The absence of a national gallery for Aboriginal Australia’s cultural and artistic heritage is a significant omission by Australian governments,” said SA Liberal Party leader Steven Marshall.

“The National Aboriginal Gallery will be of international significance and attract visitors from across Australia and throughout the world.”
