Chasing Ghosts

So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?

“Chasing Ghosts is my solo folk/acoustic project which, I guess makes me a singer/songwriter or something of that nature.”

Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like?

“I guess you would hear elements of Neil Young, Johnny Cash, Bon Iver, Dallas Green, Ray LaMontagne, Black Is The Colour.”

What do you love about making music?

“Seeing an idea go from your bedroom, to the studio, to the audience and grow each time. Always starts very humble and becomessomething others really connect with; kind of cool.”

What do you hate about the music industry?

“Ego and bad sound engineers! Come on man! I’m one guy and a guitar! It’s not rocket science!”

If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?

“Cash. I grew up on story-telling music and when I hear it now I go straight back to good memories.”

If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?

“Scotte from One Dollar Short! Those mustard pants are still burnt into my retinas! (Jokes, love you Woods, please don’t choke me out…again.)”

What can a punter expect from your live show?

“Sing-a-longs, story-telling and laughs… and a heap of washed up tattooed jaded guys singing folk like fools.”

What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?

“My debut album Confessions From A Phone Booth is available on iTunes and at shows now! The album will be in stores through Burn City Burn Records in the the near future.”

When’s the gig and with who?

“Friday May 20 at POW! in Werribee with Summerset Avenue.”

Anything else to add?

“Check out Desperado Ink in Altona! These guys have been looking after me in Melbourne. Stay in touch with facebook . com / iamchasingghosts or twitter . com / chasingghostsau .”
