Charm of Finches are celebrating their successful Europe tour with a concert at Hawthorn Arts Centre.
The Melbournian sisters have spent four months touring their new album ‘Marlinchan In The Snow’ to lovers of their ethereal folk melodies. Their return migration promises the soaring refinement they are known for, and stories from creative life in transit.
Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes play intricate folk-pop that’s simultaneously graceful and darkly bewitching. Their seamless blood harmonies traverse melancholy and wonder in equal measure.
In 2023 the pair spent a month in rural Nova Scotia on the remote East coast of Canada recording with acclaimed producer Daniel Ledwell. The resulting album, released this year, was inspired by the frozen beauty of the landscape and their transient life on the road.
Charm of Finches won the 2022 Australian Folk Music Awards Best Folk Album and Music Victoria Best Contemporary Folk Act in 2021.
