With his self-titled debut album set to drop later this month, Compton-based rapper and beatsmith Channel Tres has been keeping busy, having just released a new single ahead of his upcoming Australian tour.
The single, ‘Jet Black’, is hypnotically rhythmic, harking back to the minimalistic style beats inspired by early electronica. Showcasing Channel Tres’ signature stripped back sound, the single gives a good indication of what’s to come with his forthcoming album.
Tres will be in the country in November for Spilt Milk, the rapper hitting Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne with sideshows. Incorporating movement and music to create a fully rounded performance, Tres will be joined by a dance troupe when he hits Australian stages at the end of the year.
