Celebrate Midsumma Festival with the Victorian Pride Centre

From cabaret to comedy, science talks to spin classes, the Victorian Pride Centre unleashes its debut full season of Midsumma Programming.

One of the eight festival hubs collaborating with Midsumma – Melbourne’s annual festival that celebrates LGBTQIA+ arts and culture – Victorian Pride Centre is hosting 47 sessions of 26 different events across the venue throughout the festival season.

Including all-queer comedy showcase Cheers, Queers! which is set to feature a unique lineup each night and a spin class with a twist Pride Ride, there’s something for everyone at the Victorian Pride Centre. It all goes down in St Kilda across the entire Midsumma season from January 23 to February 11.

The party just doesn’t stop: get crafty with Crafty Queers, revitalise your make-up game with iconic drag queen Ruby Slippers’ live drag makeup tutorial and unleash your inner artist with a gay life drawing class, hosted by Jean-Luc Syndikas.

There venue will also be host to a series of panels and discussions highlighting a variety of queer panelists: No Pride in Racism is a panel that features shared experiences of queer people of colour, culture and faith sharing their thoughts and perspectives on sexualised racism in the community.

“Along with hosting fabulous theatre, visual arts and live music events, I am thrilled that we’re partnering with a range of organisations to present discussions, forums and workshops that will amplify the voices of LGBTIQ+ people from across our communities.”
