Check out Melbourne’s most comprehensive gig guide here.

Hidden in the basement of Driver Lane is the only dedicated blues bar in town; Beneath Driver Lane. It transports you into another place and time, with its decor that is inspired by the smokey, bluesy basements of New York, Paris, New Orleans and San Francisco. They also have a special limited new Whiskey Club for whiskey aficionados called ‘The Basement Barrel Society’.

International Blues Day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August. Celebrating the artform of blues all across the world, it was founded by blues musician Johnny Childs in 2011. It’s been celebrated worldwide ever since – and what better place to celebrate it than the only dedicated blues bar in the city?

It costs $15 on the door and walk ins are welcome. For more event information, head here
