“It’s easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism.”

From June 2 to June 18, the Melbourne Town Hall will host Euphoria, a spectacular multi-channel installation created by Berlin-based artist and filmmaker Julian Rosefeldt. This exclusive feature of the RISING festival will transform the town hall into a mesmerising display of screens, showcasing stunning 360-degree visuals. Euphoria is set to be an awe-inspiring display of art and technology and will feature narration by acclaimed Australian actress Cate Blanchett.

From homeless men to executives doing acrobatics in a bank lobby, the exhibition is an immersive experience that challenges the notion of capitalism. Julian Rosefeldt, the artist-filmmaker who gained critical acclaim with Manifesto, transforms the Melbourne Town Hall into an arena featuring a life-sized choir that surrounds the visitors while jazz drummers perform duets.

The installation will also include a dynamic original score, composed by Canadian musician Samy Moussa and performed by British saxophonist Cassie Kinoshi.

Featuring Cate Blanchett as a tiger stalking the supermarket shelves, the exhibition also features renowned actors such as Giancarlo Esposito and Virginia Newcomb, who narrate a surreal epic, presenting musings from some of history’s most influential economists, writers, and thinkers, ranging from Snoop Dogg, Warren Buffett, and Ayn Rand to Angela Davis and Mark Fisher.

Euphoria will take over the Melbourne Town Hall for RISING from June 2 to 18. Find out more by heading here.
