Showcasing the best in international horror, The Séance International Film Festival (SIFF) is making its debut in Melbourne from June 2 - June 4.

Celebrating diverse stories in reverence of all the wonderful oddities of the horror genre, The Séance International Film Festival is screening horror classics as well as never-before-seen shorts across three days. A not-for-profit event created and curated by a diverse cohort of RMIT students, The Séance International Film Festival is screening horror with sessions across the historic Capitol theatre and RMIT Building 80.

Showcasing a blend of classic and contemporary horror films – from cult classics to never-before-seen shorts, the program at The Séance International Film Festival has been carefully curated by their in-house programmers.

Catch screenings of Ana Lily Amirpour’s feminist Iranian vampire horror A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) alongside Daniel Wolters’ short Memories in the Night Wind at SIFF’s opening night on June 2.

On June 3, Séance is showing the Australian psychological horror The Babadook (2014) as well as Italian supernatural classic Suspiria (1977) across two screenings at The Capitol. Shorts The Capitol Ghost and For A Razor In The Throat accompany these two films respectively.  

On the festival’s final day, catch the Japanese experimental comedy horror film House (Hausu) by Nobuhiko Obayashi alongside Maria Teresa Garcia’s short Eucarista. Their closing session that afternoon is a selection of shorts alongside their closing ceremony.

You can grab a ticket for each session for $14 for concession and $17 for adults, or get yourself a three day pass that includes access to all three days and the opening night after party for $50 concession or $60 full price.
