American singer, songwriter and producer Cat Power, AKA Chan Marshall, has revealed news of her forthcoming album Wanderer, set for release in October.
Wanderer, Power’s first release in six years, is a few years in the making and features collaborations with a slew of Power’s friends and peers, including some vocal appearances from recent tour-mate Lana Del Rey. The 12-track album encompasses the folk singer’s journey through life, depicting her nomadic spirit and the fellow wanderers she has met in her travels.
In addition to announcing the forthcoming release, Cat Power has also revealed that she’ll be heading on a global tour to celebrate Wanderer, including a selection of dates touring with The National in the US. The tour schedule doesn’t include any Australian dates, but here’s hoping that changes.
