The hip regional town of Castlemaine will soon be brought to life with a contemporary folk takeover this November.

Town Folk Festival is back for its sixth year with one of its strongest lineups yet, transforming Castlemaine into a one-day folk paradise on Saturday, 21 November. The boutique regional event has built a reputation as the perfect easy-going discovery day, and 2026 is shaping up to be its biggest and best yet.

Headlined by New Zealand’s shape-shifting eccentric Aldous Harding and mid-west folk romantic Kevin Morby (USA), the bill also boasts the long-awaited Australian debut of UK charmers Flyte, Dutch psych-instrumentalists YĪN YĪN, Melbourne’s own rising world-conquerors Folk Bitch Trio, plus a huge stack of local and interstate favourites.

The carefully curated lineup mixes international heavyweights with homegrown talent like Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Romy Vager, Way Dynamic, Darren Hanlon, Hannah Cameron, Immy Owusu and many more.

From slow-core storytelling to bush reggae, psych-folk grooves to raw indie, Town Folk continues to deliver a true musical smorgasbord across The Bridge Hotel, Shedshaker Taproom and Boomtown Winery.

Now firmly established as a highlight on the regional calendar, the festival keeps things accessible and family-friendly while championing community, local produce and unforgettable performances. It’s the kind of day where punters wander between stages and constantly stumble on something new and special.

Supported by Live Music Australia, Visit Victoria and Mount Alexander Shire Council, Town Folk Festival remains true to its roots as the little festival with big vision. In a world of increasingly corporate music events, it’s a refreshing celebration of camaraderie and contemporary folk in all its flavours.

With 21 artists already locked in and more to come, this year’s event is primed to sell fast. Clear your calendar for 21 November and get ready for a proper regional music adventure in the heart of Castlemaine.

Tickets go on sale this Thursday 21 May at 9am. Get them here.
