Jarabi Band leads audiences on a dynamic journey from the ancient Manding Empire of West Africa to modern-day city life, weaving the timeless musical traditons of Guinea with contemporary sounds of Melbourne’s vivid music scene.
Led by visionary master musician Mohamed Camara, Jarabi crafts a unique fusion of infectious rhythms, intricate melodies and soul-stiring vocals, delivering an exciting sound which transcends cultural barriers and speaks a universal language, unifying people from diverse backgrounds.

Jarabi Band’s debut album Duniama – In This World (2023, Music in Exile, with support from Creative Victoria) includes lead single Djamana, which placed in the top 10 finalists for 2024’s Needle in the Hay competition. In 2024, Jarabi Band’s national album launch tour (delivered with support from Creative Australia) intoxicated audiences at some of the country’s most revered venues and events, including Melbourne Recital Centre, NaIonal Gallery of Victoria, Port Fairy Folk
Festival, Dark Mofo, Mona Foma, Illawarra Folk Festival, St Kilda Festival and the High Country Hop. Jarabi Band received a nominaIon for the prestigious 2024 Music Victoria Diaspora Award.

For all of Feb, we’re celebrating Afro beat, jazz, disco, funk, kwaito, highlife, Congolese soukous, rumba, sabar rhythms and alllll the fusions, the Brewpub is hosting mega talent this February from Africa, The Caribbean, Latin America and other parts of the world.

Revel in live music from 7:30-9:30pm Wed + Thur and from 4pm Sunday over four weeks alongside drink and food specials.

Wine and dine to Afro jazz, funk & soul on Thursdays and bring your dancing shoes on Sundays for some upbeat rhythms.
