Electronic music icons Carl Craig, Marcel Dettmann, and Moodymann have announced a one-off show in Melbourne this February.

The legendary trio will bring their signature techno and house sounds to Northcote Theatre on Friday, 7 February 2025, for what promises to be a standout night of music. Joining them will be Melbourne-born, internationally based DJ Aldonna, rounding out an extraordinary lineup.

This unique event brings together three of the most influential figures in electronic music. Carl Craig, the Detroit pioneer known for his genre-defining productions and boundary-pushing creativity, will showcase the innovative energy that has defined his decades-long career. Moodymann, Detroit’s enigmatic house producer, will deliver his soulful and deeply original sound that recontextualises influences like funk, jazz, and soul. Meanwhile, Berlin’s Marcel Dettmann, widely regarded as one of contemporary techno’s most influential voices, will offer his innovative approach to electronic music.

Moodymann
Kenny Dixon Jr., known as Moodymann, is one of Detroit’s most enigmatic house producers, renowned for blending soul, funk, and jazz into deeply personal and groundbreaking house tracks. Active since the early ’90s, he established KDJ Records and has produced classics like I Can’t Kick This Feelin’ When It Hits and Don’t Be Misled. Known for prioritising music over the spotlight, Moodymann’s influence on house music is unmatched.

Marcel Dettmann
Berlin-based Marcel Dettmann is a leading figure in contemporary techno, with ties to iconic spaces like Berghain and Hard Wax. His forward-thinking releases, including his recent album Fear of Programming, explore timeless and innovative electronic music. Beyond the club, Dettmann has contributed to film soundtracks, dance projects, and art exhibitions, cementing his reputation as a multifaceted artist.

Carl Craig is a Detroit techno legend with over three decades of influence on electronic music. Known for his prolific output under various aliases, Craig has contributed to hundreds of remixes and six LPs. A Grammy-nominated artist, he is celebrated for his Detroit Love events and educational projects that champion black artistry. Craig’s work continues to redefine electronic music’s global landscape.
