Since debuting with 2019’s Pleaser LP, Georgia Maq has chased a more electronically-informed brand of pop music in her solo career, lightly influenced by the likes of Robyn, Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepsen and others.
Full of DIY electro-pop that mined evergreen themes of romantic, sexual and self-love, alongside politically-charged songs like ‘Joe Rogan’, Maq’s solo debut dove into her vulnerabilities and heartbreaks, and expanding beyond the runaway success of Camp Cope, whose eponymous debut album back in 2016 was met with universal acclaim and won that year’s J Award.
