Heads up, Melbourne — the underground’s calling, and it’s bringing serious low-end frequencies.
Sub Culture, the Byron-born event series that’s been quietly (well, not that quietly) building a rep for next-level bass-heavy raves, is finally making its Melbourne debut this May. And they’re doing it proper, with an immersive showcase of UKG, dubstep, 140, and leftfield bass that’ll shake the walls of QQQ ST. PARK in Collingwood.
It’s all going down Friday, May 31, and if you like your beats deep, your dancefloors dark, and your sound systems fully dialled, this one’s for you.

Titled Dub & DnB: In The City, the lineup is stacked with genre-bending selectors including:
- NIIX – a shapeshifting DJ known for dropping heavy, emotive bass cuts across styles
- SK4NK – rising up fast in the dubstep/140 scene with cavernous low-end pressure
- HEMERA – razor-sharp UKG and deep groove technician
- AUSAR – founder of Sub Culture and a weapon behind the decks with AV-driven sets that melt minds
With a background in sound system culture, slick production, and creating intentionally curated spaces, Sub Culture isn’t just about the music — it’s about crafting a vibe. Think low-lit rooms, booming bass, and a real sense of underground community — the kind of party where everyone’s locked into the same frequency.
Already a cult favourite up north with sold-out shows and bookings like Flowdan and Neffa-T, Sub Culture’s Melbourne expansion is the start of something big. This isn’t just a party — it’s a movement.
Grab your ticket, lace your boots, and come ready to move.
