Burning Man Bikes To Be Sent To Africa

Loop Cycles has partnered with Lekker Bikes and Bicycles for Humanity to create a bike that was designed with longevity and functionality in mind. Oh, and it also glows in the dark. For $155, burners can purchase one of these bikes which can be picked up and returned on the road to Burning Man. After the event, the bikes will be sent to Africa to provide a means of transport for people in critical need.

The idea came to Tom Ashby, founder of Loop Cycles, after taking issue with the thousands of bikes that are dumped in the desert each year after Burning Man. The bikes will allow for attendees to speedily navigate the enormous Playa and then give healthcare workers in Africa the ability to visit four to five times the number of patients in a day.
