The Broken Hills' free country residency at Brunswick Artists' Bar now comes with $9 wines and $10 draughts.
The Brunswick Ballroom house band have been playing a permanent weekly slot in the venue’s downstairs room on Sydney Road, rolling out country originals and classic covers from 5:45pm each week.
The venue has now added drink specials for the full length of each set – $9 house wines and $10 pours of the Ballroom’s own draught beer while the band are on stage. The specials run exclusively while The Broken Hills are playing.

Food deals are also on offer during The Broken Hills’ weekly sessions, building on what was already a free live music gig with a more rounded after-work package. The drink and food specials cover the full set, which runs from 5:45pm through to 7:30pm – close to two hours of cheaper-than-usual rounds and bites with live country filling out the room.
The bar opens from 5pm each week, leaving time to settle in and grab a round before the band kicks off at quarter to six. Entry is free with RSVPs available through Moshtix, and because the residency runs as a permanent fixture in the Artists’ Bar calendar, there’s no specific date to worry about. It just keeps going, with the next run of sessions already listed on the venue’s Moshtix page.
At $9 for a glass of wine and $10 for a beer, the pricing undercuts what you’d pay for a standard mid-week drink at most inner-north venues – without even accounting for the free live music. Brunswick Artists’ Bar operates as a separate, more intimate space underneath the main Ballroom, and the after-work timing means it’s easy to drop in on the way home without writing off the whole evening.
