Boggle + Psi Phi + Buttered Loaf

Come join us for an afternoon of top-shelf live music at Cross Street Music Hall. The July installation of the Cross St Sunday series will mix up a spicy musical cocktail for your delectation and delight, featuring BOGGLE, PSI PHI, and Buttered Loaf. The vibes will be good, the drinks will be cheap & it’s family friendly so tell all your friends, snap up some tickets and head on down to Cross St for a killer gig!

TICKETS AND TIMES
Tickets are $25 presale (b/f incl) or $30 on the door. All proceeds go to the musicians playing, after sound and promo expenses. We believe the value for money of this pricing structure is exceptional and pricing any lower would only serve to devalue the hard work and lifetime commitment of the talented musicians performing for you. That said, we also offer a $15 no-questions asked concession for students, seniors, or anyone who is hard-up right now but still wants to come to a killer gig – we want you there!

About your hosts:

BOGGLE

Mixing elements of drum and bass, noise punk and electronics, this trio is boggling minds with their explosive sound, blending baritone sax, drums, synths, samples and guitars, and spiralling from dance music to oblivion. Featuring Anna Gordon on sax, Rosie Excess on synths, samples and guitars, and Toby Johnson on drums, Boggle are not to be missed.

PSI PHI

PSI PHI (“sci-fi”), features Sam Cope (Blue King Brown, Buttered Loaf, The Badloves) on Hammond/keyboards/vocals, Ryan Monro (The Cat Empire, The Meltdown) on bass, Kumar Shome (The Punkawallahs, Mad Vantage, Ajax Kwai) on guitar and Will Hull-Brown (The Cat Empire) on drums. They blend a selection of covers with a growing repertoire of originals, drawing inspiration from the gods and monsters of 70s-era prog and classic rock as well as more modern incarnations, with an appropriate level of musical virtuosity and intensity. Expect anything from Floyd to Focus; Yes to Sabbath; Deep Purple to Justice and everything in-between, and some truly monstrous, organ-driven grooves.

Buttered Loaf

Renegades of rock, foragers of funk, doyennes of dub, rascals of roots, and sorcerers of soul, BUTTERED LOAF deliver performances of blistering, tone-bending musical thuggery that will blow beards, tickle moustaches, and tip food trucks for miles around. Hold on to your expensive miniature tacos, people, BUTTERED LOAF is an institution not to be missed.

Featuring Sam Cope on keys (Blue King Brown, PSI PHI, The Badloves), Yuri Pavlinov on bass (The Bamboos, Renee Geyer Band), Selwyn Cozens on drums (Ruby Jones Experience), Gideon Cozens on guitar (Jane Hillson and the Brunswick Troubadours) and Joe Greenway on sax (Spinning Rooms).
