To say that Chantal Mitvalsky, is a stunning vocalist is an extreme understatement. Melbourne drummer, Sonja as her music teacher at school was first to recognise this. Bob Sedergreen realised this, the instant she joined JAVC sessions as did all jazz musicians who subsequently worked with her in bands like Cannonball.
Chantal relocated to New York City in 2017 and quickly became a regular performer in the New York music scene. Chantal has recently returned home and received rave reviews from the audience from the sell-out crowd at The Lido jazz Room in August.
Bob Sedergreen, piano, Ivan Rosa on bass and Sonja Horbelt on drums are a formidable rhythm section having worked together for more than 20 years releasing their longstanding album The First One an eclectic mix of hip jazz, well-chosen standards and even a Beatles tune. They will provide the perfect accompaniment for Chantal’s talented vocals.
