UK indie rock icons Bloc Party are headed down under to mark two decades of musical evolution.
The Silent Alarm creators will hit Australia and New Zealand this August with special guests Young The Giant in tow, performing their landmark debut album alongside their greatest hits from their six-album catalogue. Having solidified their place in indie rock history since forming in 2003, the band is set to deliver a high-energy celebration for fans across both countries.
Described as a “defining moment in 21st century British guitar music,” Bloc Party’s debut album will be performed in full alongside fan favourites from their extensive discography.

Silent Alarm remains one of the most influential indie records of the 2000s, winning NME Album of the Year in 2005 and Indie Rock Album of the Year at the 2006 PLUG Awards. The record was also nominated for Best Alternative Act at the MTV Music Awards and the prestigious Mercury Prize.
The band’s meteoric rise began when frontman Kele Okereke handed a copy of their single She’s Hearing Voices to Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos and BBC Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq, who championed the track on his show, famously labelling it “genius.” From there, Bloc Party skyrocketed to international acclaim, headlining major festivals including Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds.
Known for their experimental blend of math rock, indie, and pop, the band creates an infectiously ambitious sound that continues to influence the genre. Their return follows a highly successful co-headline tour with Interpol in 2023, which saw them play to sold-out venues around Australia.
Special guests Young The Giant will be making their long-awaited return to Australian stages, marking their first tour Down Under in 14 years. With over 1.8 billion streams globally and multi-platinum success, the American rock outfit brings their own collection of anthems including Cough Syrup, My Body and Mind Over Matter.
Presales for the highly anticipated tour begin Wednesday 19 March at 9am local time for fans who sign up via Destroy All Lines, with general tickets available from Friday 21 March. With Bloc Party’s reputation for electric live performances and the nostalgic pull of Silent Alarm’s anniversary, demand is expected to be high for this celebration of indie rock royalty.
