The Melbourne-based producer and leader of band the Good Lords differs from other acts in the Australian music scene with a unique spin on hip hop. Today, Davis shares his first album, A Family Portrait, featuring collaborations with Jace XL, Denzel Curry, and more.
The debut album has important personal significance for Davis as he dedicates the record to his mother and late father. In creating the album Davis explains that he was able to build a musical family of his own.
“Not really knowing what a regular family was, being an only child with just a mum it was crazy that with this project I was able to find and build a family of my own.”
In the last year, Billy Davis has been gaining new fans from all over the globe with his mixture of hip hop and RnB. Davis will be launching his album with support from the Good Lords, KAIIT, Jace XL and Amin Payne in November.
