The showcase has an impressive track record of propelling Australian artists onto the global stage, with alumni including G Flip, Flume, Rufus du Sol, Gang of Youths, Thelma Plum, The Temper Trap, Lime Cordiale, Tash Sultana, DMA’s and Courtney Barnett.
Beyond performance opportunities, the event offers significant media exposure, specialised networking events, and personalised one-on-one meetings designed to help artists expand their professional networks.
Applicants need to submit a concise bio, two representative tracks, artist images and video content. Organisers are particularly interested in understanding artists’ career goals, notable achievements, and dream industry connections.
The four-day event has become a crucial platform for Australian artists seeking export opportunities, with booking representatives from international events like SXSW, The Great Escape and Reeperbahn Festival regularly attending to scout fresh talent.
In addition to industry opportunities, BIGSOUND encourages artist-to-artist networking, creating an environment where musicians can build relationships and explore potential collaborations.
