World-class talent, bottomless laughs.
The Best of the Edinburgh Fest is returning to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this month after its 2020 show was cancelled due to COVID-19.
Heading the 2021 bill of both emerging and esteemed comedians includes international acts from the UK – rising star Kelsey De Almeida and the revered Luke Benson.
What you need to know
- The Best of the Edinburgh Fest is returning to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this year
- The show will be presented as part of MICF from Thursday March 25 to Sunday April 18 at The Forum
- On the 2021 bill are Kelsey De Almeida, Luke Benson, Georgie Carroll and Bob Downe.
Keep up with the latest comedy news here.
De Almeida is one of the hardest working comics on the circuit, and despite only being 24 years of age, has already supported Stephen K Amos on five UK tours – the first of which came only 11 months after De Almeida first took up comedy – alongside the likes of Abandoman and Russell Kane.
Involved with comedy since 2007, Benson has gigged all across the world, including Bahrain, Scandinavia, the Balkans (Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary) and beyond, and has become a trusted name on the circuit.
Joining Benson and De Almeida on the lineup are special guests Georgie Carroll and Bob Downe – who will feature for a good time, but not the whole time.
UK-born Carroll, who is now a fully-fledged Australian, will perform from March 25 to April 11, with her signature combination of bluntness, charm and wit. Downe, beloved persona of journalist, broadcaster, comedian and actor Mark Trevorrow, will be joining the Fest from April 13 to 18.
With a bill of ‘next big thing’ comedians, handpicked by Mary Tobin Presents, the Best of the Edinburgh Fest is guaranteed to delight and amuse in 2021.
The Best of the Edinburgh Fest comes to The Forum from Thursday March 25 to Sunday April 18 (bar Mondays). Tickets are available here.
