The 10th edition of the four-day festival will go ahead in November 2022.
The Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival, due to take place in the heat of the summer this year from February 10-13, has once again been rescheduled due to the implications of COVID-19.
The 10th edition of the four-day festival was initially billed for November 2020 and will now see it take place two years later in November 2022 after three postponed events. The postponed event will be re-programmed for 3 – 6 November 2022.

The event joins several Victorian and NSW events postponed because of concerns about the rapid spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Event Director, Colin Thompson stated, “The decision was made due to the current high risk to our volunteers, artists, technicians and attendees alongside the uncertainty around venues being able to operate with staff shortages and capacity restrictions. The Committee has been working non-stop over the Christmas period to ensure the 10th festival is everything our supporters would want it to be, but the safety of our BB&RMF community must come first.
“Over the course of the COVID 19 pandemic, we have managed to stage online shows and our Live ‘n Local concert, working within the restrictions we’ve had imposed. However, continued uncertainty has caused the Festival Committee to reconsider the best time to present our 10th Anniversary festival lineup.
“We would like to stress that the 10th Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival will go ahead, with the advertised lineup largely unchanged. We are passionate about presenting this festival and can’t wait to bring you this incredible program of talented blues and roots artists in November.”
Proudly supported by Visit Victoria and City of Greater Bendigo, the festival is a predominantly free, grass-roots, community event that gives music fans and community members the opportunity to enjoy world-class music, with a focus on local and independent talent from the blues and roots genres.
When the four-day event returns in November, it will once again be filled with performances, open mic opportunities, jam sessions and workshops – by more than 100 artists from all over Australia (as well as some internationals) – conducted in over 30 venues throughout Bendigo and some surrounding areas.
Anyone who has purchased a ticket to one of the ticketed events can retain their ticket for the rescheduled dates in November – however, if you require a refund, please contact the specific venue to arrange.
In the meantime, the Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival will continue to support our wonderful musicians, and entertain our lovely punters every way they can, always working within the applicable COVID-safe restrictions.
Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival runs from November 3 – 6 2022. Further information for the festival is available through bendigobluesandroots.com.au.
