Since its inception, SongHubs has provided opportunities for over 2000 emerging and established songwriters across more than 30 locations worldwide. The program has evolved from straightforward writing camps to highly sought-after collaborative experiences that pair local, national and global creatives in professional studio environments.

The film explores how chance meetings in professional studio settings have transformed careers and created lasting musical partnerships. Telenova, the three-piece band that formed during a SongHubs session in Melbourne in 2019, went on to sign with EMI after their initial collaboration. Jordan Rakei credits his time at a SongHubs-sponsored event at RAK Studios in London in 2022 as inspiration for his acclaimed album The Loop.

More than 6000 tracks have been produced through SongHubs sessions, featuring collaborations in multiple languages including Indian, Korean, Māori, Portuguese and First Nations languages. The program’s reach extends across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally, with participants from Auckland, London, Melbourne, Sydney and the Torres Straits.

Future SongHubs sessions will feature renowned curators including Alex Hope, Chelsea Warner and Jordan Dozzi, with more participants to be announced. The program continues to cement its position as one of the region’s most innovative platforms for music creators, providing new skills and connections that help build careers and produce commercially successful music.
