bars and clubs Victoria

We've picked the best bars and clubs throughout regional Victoria for when you're on the road.

Bloom – Geelong

For about a year now there have been rumours circulating Geelong about a new club opening; a club that’ll be the answer to the currently bored clubbers, a safe place for everyone, a place called ‘Bloom.’ “Man they are going to play full underground tunes”, “it’ll actually be so sick, it’s run by Aaron from Chow and Luke and Adam from Uno”, “apparently they have Funktion Ones..”

Well, it turns out Bloom isn’t a myth and the gossiping club kids weren’t wrong.

Shingo’s in Shepparton

Shingo’s is the perfect place to chill out and grab a coffee or party on through the night to some old school R&B. This quirky hidden gem is owned by, would you believe it, a man named Shingo who has decorated the spot with retro memorabilia reminiscent of a 1970s diner. Not only is Shingo’s a café and bar, the venue also hosts open mic nights for those looking to take their music career to the next level. Or those just looking to embarrass themselves after a few cold ones.

Find Shingo’s at 173 Corio St, Shepparton.

Kaystreet Entertainment Complex – Traralgon

The country rival to Cloud Nine in Melbourne, Kaystreet is made up of the Inferno Nightclub, Saloon Bar and Beer Garden. Kaystreet may just be the best thing to happen to Gippsland’s night life, with international and national touring acts like Grinspoon, Hilltop Hoods, Flo Rida, Birds of Tokyo, Pete Murray and DJs like Will Sparks and Teddy Cream each having headlined performances at the venue. It’s also located next to the Traralgon police station, so at least you know if you get a bit too rowdy you have a place to crash for the night.

Find Kay Street Entertainment Complex at 19-23 Kay Street, Traralgon.

Handlebar – Bendigo

A cute little spot in Bendigo’s CBD, Handlebar is open from Thursday to Sunday from 2pm ’til late, so you can head there for after lunch drinks, to blow off some steam after work or on a night that takes an upbeat turn. There’s never a dull moment at Handlebar, with comedy, jazz nights and bangers galore. Do you think you can handle it?

Find Handlebar at 73 Mitchell St, Bendigo.

Four Pillars Gin Distillery – Healesville

If gin and tonic is your poison, then Four Pillars Gin Distillery needs to be on your radar. Only an hour outside of Melbourne, the Four Pillars Gin Distillery is perfect for those looking to test their taste buds with some gin tasting. While you sip your g&t, you’ll have a perfect view of the Four Pillars Distillery equipment as all their gin is made onsite. Now, that’s some nice machinery.

Find Four Pillars Gin Distillery at 2a Lilydale Road, Healesville.
