Beats by Beat: Frou Frou has mixed up a grounding electronic hour for your ears

Words by Sam Howard

Welcome to Beats by Beat, our new mix series for electronic music lovers. Head here if you missed the previous Beats by Beat mix, produced by discotheque queen, Casey Leaver.

With a background in holistic health, Frou Frou, aka Julia Har, is passionate about music that makes you move.

Her source of inspiration depends on what she’s digging at the time, but if you attempt to describe it, it’s akin to a bizarre and leftfield acid-electro. She’s a lover of discovering a producer’s culturally traditional music or uncovering a label with a peculiar sound.

Her knowledge of meditative frequencies is one of many tools in her arsenal. She enjoys the creative canvas of DJing and production as well as the challenges that come along with it. To her, navigating the experience of audience awareness while expressing her own unique style is a process she finds therapeutic.

For our listening ears, she’s mixed up a grounding electronic hour where Mark Barrott’s jungle-like island Balearic beats meet Israel’s wacky Red Axes and it’s a damn delight.
