Bringing you that ol’ school toe-tappin’, knee-slappin’ music.

Guitar genius BB King will tour Melbourne and Sydney in April, 2011.
It’s been over 20 years since the Mississippi born and bread King of Blues last come to Australia. Finally, the BB drought is over.

Riely B King A.K.A BB King has been ranked number 3 on the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list and has been knighted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Like a good wine, the 82 year-old Godfather of Blues’ booming voice matures with age. With over 75 albums released and more than 60 years gigging under his belt (that’s 10,000 concerts, in case you were wondering), you’d be hard-pressed to find a performer who feels more at home on stage than Mr King.

“The ache, the anger, the elegance and the edge of Mr. King’s blues are undiminished and authentic,” says the The New York Times.

BB has already been snapped up to perform in next years Byron Bay Bluesfest to fest-goers’ delight.
Next Easter, BB will be ushered into Melbourne’s Hisense Arena, a venue that hosted the Commonwealth Games and is known for its colossal space.
From a young age, BB had a thirst for the blues. Buying his first guitar at age 12 for $15, he has walked the long road to world fame and never looked back.

BB has scored countless prestigious awards. Among many, he wears the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Living Legend medal of honour by the Library of Congress in the USA for spreading the joys of the blues to the world.
Did we mention he also has 15 Grammy Awards by his bedside table?

Among many classics, Mr King will be performing from his Grammy Award winning album of 2008, One Kind Favor. The album is stocked with loads of good old bluesy cover songs that influenced King way back in the 1950s.

BB King tours Australia on the following dates:
Tuesday April 12, 2011 – State Theatre, Sydney.
Saturday April 16, 2011 – Hisense Arena, Melbourne.
