Canadians Azari & III played to a small but spastically drunk crowd at the Prince a few months ago, which is what happens when you wait until one o’clock in the morning to start your set. They were a fabulous pair, with their retro future funk, sequined jackets and shiny lycra pants, but a little too rich for my blood. Manic, for example, sounds like Prince made love to an 808 and made a big gay house baby. I am not cool enough for this music.
