Australia’s biggest R&B festival is skipping 2026 and won’t be back until 2027

Words by staff writer

Fridayz Live has told fans the R&B and hip-hop juggernaut will sit out 2026, promising a bigger return the year after.

Fridayz Live has confirmed its next outing won’t land in 2026, with the event instead returning to stages in 2027.

The word came via the Fridayz Live social accounts, where organisers said they’d stepped away from an annual schedule and would only come back once they could top the 2025 series. Their reasoning was blunt: the plan is to return when the experience can match what came before, not to stick to a set calendar.

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

That 2025 run set a high bar. Powered by Macca’s and presented by MG Live and the Hit Network, it was headlined by Mariah Carey and Pitbull, alongside Wiz Khalifa, Lil Jon, Eve, Tinie Tempah and Jordin Sparks, with Yo! MAFIA on resident DJ duties.

No dates, venues or line-up have been locked in for the 2027 edition yet. For reference, the last outing took over Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, plus shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth, each billed as one night only with no sideshows.

For now, the message from the Fridayz Live camp is simple: sit tight. Organisers say they’d rather come back with something worth the wait than run a predictable event on autopilot.

The first word on a 2027 line-up will land on the official channels, which is also where any dates and ticketing information will surface before anywhere else.
